Cobb County Schools Celebrate PBIS Distinguished Recognition

We are thrilled to announce that seven schools in Cobb County have been honored with the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Distinguished Recognition! This prestigious achievement highlights the commitment of these schools to fostering positive behavior, academic success, and a supportive learning environment for all students.

The schools receiving this honor are:

  • Awtrey Middle School
  • Griffin Middle School
  • Nickajack Elementary School
  • Palmer Middle School
  • Pine Mountain Middle School
  • Powers Ferry Elementary School
  • Smitha Middle School

These schools have shown exemplary efforts in implementing PBIS strategies, which promote respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors across campuses. This work is led by Positive School Culture and Support team inclusive of: Kathleen Greb, Jennifer Hellman, Alexis Gonzalez and Sara Folk.  Their dedication to creating a positive school culture helps ensure that students thrive academically and socially.

A special recognition reception was held on February 26, 2025 to celebrate the success of these schools, where educators, staff, and students were applauded for their outstanding contributions. We are proud of their hard work and commitment to making Cobb County Schools a place of excellence and opportunity for all students.
