iLEAD: Alternative Preparation for Educational Leadership Certification-Tier I and Tier II

The next iLEAD cohorts start in the Summer of 2025!  
The admissions window is from January 6, 2025 – May 23, 2025.

The Metro RESA iLEAD program is a PSC approved Alternative Educational Leadership Certification and Preparation program for school and system leaders. Systems recommend potential candidates who are working in a leadership position for at least half a day every day. The term leadership position refers to those positions requiring leadership certification as determined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. The iLEAD program is a one year job-embedded program providing authentic work in a real-time setting. Metro RESA is an approved provider for both Tier I and Tier II certification.

Carmen Havrilla, Metro RESA iLEAD Coordinator

Carmen Havrilla is the Metro RESA Coordinator of the iLEAD Program for Educational Leadership Preparation and Certification, Tiers I and II. Carmen has been an educator since 1987 serving Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia schools. Most of her career was spent in the Cobb County School District where she served as a teacher, assistant principal, leadership development supervisor, and school principal. Her expertise in leadership development spans multiple school levels, district-wide positions and higher education. Carmen has also served as an adjunct professor at Reinhardt University teaching in the MAT program. She holds degrees from the University of Delaware, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Kennesaw State University, where she was selected as the University Graduate Scholar of the Year. Carmen joined the Metro RESA team in 2017. iLEAD is committed to excellence and caring as they support leaders throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
