Elementary One Year Pathway

The application will reopen March 1, 2026 for the 2026 One-Year Pathway Cohort.

The One Year Elementary Pathway is a certification program that allows teachers who are professionally certified in another field to add Elementary Education to their certificate. This program is ideal for teachers moving into or already working an Elementary classroom teaching position: 

• who have a current Georgia professional certificate in another field
• who do not need an advanced degree
• who are currently employed in a PreK-5 position in an elementary school that is Cognia accredited
• applicants must be employed in a school that has a minimum of three grade levels

The One Year Pathway Program begins on August 1 of each year and is an 11-month program, ending by June 15.

The application window for FY27 will open March 1, 2026, and close on June 19, 2026.
