Application Steps

Before gathering materials for the application, use the online quiz to determine the program that you qualify for, linked HERE. Once your program is determined, please download the checklist and use it to gather all needed materials before applying, The checklist is linked HERE.

1. Compile All College Transcripts

Official transcript(s) from ALL accredited colleges or universities attended
- Transcript(s) must list the degree awarded and the date the degree was conferred.
- A Bachelor's degree may not be required for your field.
- CTAE fields will include degree/certificate information from an accredited institution.
Undergraduate GPA requirements are as follows:
- 2.75 for EXPRESS (OR a 2.5 and passing GACE at the Professional level)
- 2.5 for Comprehensive GaTAPP (2.75 if not employed at time of application)
If you are employed and have a GPA between a 2.3 and a 2.5, you will need to submit your application for Core Team review. If your GPA falls below a 2.3, you are not eligible for any GaTAPP program.
Must hold a related degree to the subject taught (more information found below)

2. Provide Passing GACE Content Assessment Score Reports

Passing GACE Content Assessment, or equivalent, must be related to college degree awarded
- Related Degree Listings
  - Elementary and Special Education fields do not require related degree
- Equivalent assessments could be Praxis, or other state-approved assessments
- **NOTE** Some CTAE and unique fields do not have corresponding GACE assessments.

3. Provide the GACE Educator Ethics Assessment Certificate

4. Request Two Reference Letters

5. Prepare Resume

6. Obtain a Copy of Your Teaching Certificate

7. Teacher Observation Information

You are now ready to create a profile following the directions found below and complete the appropriate online application.

To begin the online registration process:

To register, first go to our website at www.mresa.org.
Scroll down below the main page graphic and click COURSES and EVENTS.on the left hand side of the page.
Once within the COURSES and EVENTS registration page, use the search bar in the top right corner to type in GaTAPP. Click SEARCH.
Select the GaTAPP program that you are applying for.
REGISTER and PAY. You must self-pay for your application. The application fee is $50.00.
Create an account. You will need first name, last name, email address, district affiliation (If you are not within a district, select MRESA.), school name, school address, cell phone, and home address.
Once an account is created, the items in your cart will appear. The correct GaTAPP Application should be visible. Your cart summary should show a $50.00 fee associated with the registration.
Select the payment method: I will pay online,
Once payment information is completed, select MAKE PAYMENT. A message will appear that your registration was received.
Select GO TO DASHBOARD.
This will take you to your online learning account dashboard where you are able to view your active courses, register for additional courses, edit your account to change your password. (Your initial password will be emailed to the email address you provided upon creating an account within the registration system.)

The deadlines for the applications are as follows:

Winter cohort - December 10

EXPRESS cohort - April 10

Comprehensive GaTAPP - May 10

OYP - June 10

All documents must be submitted electronically to Metro RESA via the online application during the application period.

Applicant documents not received via the online application will not be processed.
