School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement

It is the responsibility of each candidate to maintain documentation and submit their application to the GaPSC.
The School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement was established by the Safe Schools Act (HB 147) for school personnel to help keep schools safe and prevent gang activity and recruitment in classrooms.
The Safe Schools Act (HB 147) focuses on keeping Georgia’s students, teachers, and school personnel safe. The legislation modernizes school safety protocols by equipping school personnel with skills to protect students.
The School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement gives certificate holders strengthened and enhanced competency levels in multidisciplinary best practices for promoting and preserving safe schools and for identifying and deterring youth gangs.
The School Safety and Anti-Gang Endorsement consists of 20 Training sessions: 16 online and 4 in person. All training must be completed within 5 years of an application to be accepted.
Important Information for Candidates
- Candidates are responsible for completing the requirements for this endorsement. They must register for and complete all 20 sessions within 5 years.

Adding the Endorsement for Certified Educators
Any individual employed in a school can complete the endorsement’s trainings but only educators holding GaPSC certificates/licenses can add the endorsement.
The following documents are required to add the Endorsement:
- GaPSC will need an Application Request through MyPSC or Expresslane
- Documentation verifying the completion of the 20 trainings.
- GaLearns Transcript (11)
- FEMA Certificates (4)
- Texas A&M University Certificate (1)
- GEMA/GPSTC Transcript (4)
3. Verification of Lawful Presence, if not verified.
4. Employer Assurance or $20 processing fee.
