Reading P-12 Endorsement
The next Metro RESA model of Reading Endorsement will return for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Reading P-12 Endorsement at Metro RESA is a GaPSC approved add-on preparation program that aligns with Georgia’s House Bill 538. The program provides approved candidates with the coursework and related field experience required to add the Reading Endorsement to a current Standard Georgia Professional Certificate. The Metro RESA Reading Endorsement prepares educators to demonstrate competency in assessing students' literacy needs and planning appropriately for the needs of students in Georgia public school classrooms.
Courses are designed to be taken in sequence, beginning with Foundations of Teaching Reading in a Pluralistic Society and ending with Teaching Reading and Writing Across All Disciplines. The Reading Endorsement is divided into three courses consisting of 50 hours/5 PLUs each.
Successful completion of all three courses is required to add the Reading P-12 Endorsement to a base certificate.
