Course Outline and Schedule

The Online Teaching Endorsement at Metro RESA is a GaPSC approved preparation program that provides approved candidates with the coursework and related field experience required to add the Online Teaching Endorsement to a current standard Georgia Professional Certificate. The Online Teaching Endorsement classes will consist of K-12 educators who have a desire to strengthen their online instructional knowledge, skills, and disposition toward online teaching. There will be opportunities to differentiate the tasks across grade levels, content areas, and service areas.
Participants are required to implement online instructional lessons through integration of TKES and the National Standards for Quality Online Learning.

Courses are designed to be taken in sequence, beginning with A Foundation for Effective Online Teaching and ending with Effective Online Teaching in Action. The Online Teaching Endorsement is divided into three courses consisting of 5 PLUs each. Successful completion of all three courses is required to add the Online Teaching Endorsement to a base certificate.

Wendy Grey, Metro RESA Online Teaching Endorsement Coordinator

Wendy Grey serves as the Online Teaching Endorsement Coordinator for Metro RESA, where she leads endorsement coursework and supports the organization’s website and Learning Management System.
Wendy began her career as an elementary teacher in Douglas County Schools, quickly becoming the “go‑to” resource for instructional technology. She went on to hold several district-level technology roles, including Technical Support Analyst Team Lead, Network Analyst, and Manager of Instructional Technology.
In 2010, Wendy joined the Georgia Department of Education as the Title IID (Ed Tech) Program Manager, later serving as the Project Manager for the Race to the Top Grant.
Wendy currently teaches Early Childhood Care and Education at West Georgia Technical College, working with both dual‑enrollment and traditional students in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online environments. She is passionate about integrating technology to engage learners and regularly delivers technology-focused professional learning for WGTC and partner schools.
