The K - 5 Mathematics Endorsement at Metro RESA is a GaPSC approved preparation program that provides approved candidates with the coursework and related field experience required to add the K - 5 Mathematics Endorsement to a current Standard Georgia Professional Certificate. Each of the courses, equivalent to graduate-level work, address the content, instructional practices, professional responsibility, and teaching aspects of the learner and learning. Candidates demonstrate competencies described in Standard 1, Content and Pedagogical Knowledge of the Georgia Standards for the Approval of Educator Preparation Providers and the K – 5 Mathematics Endorsement Program Standards throughout the endorsement. In order to earn credit for the course, candidates must be in attendance 90% of the time, submit assignments as required, and earn a minimum score on a content test.

Upon successful completion of the endorsement, candidates may be eligible for a $1,000 per year stipend, for up to 5 years, based on funding approval by the Georgia General Assembly. For additional stipend details, review pages 2 and 3 of the GaDOE Math and Science Teachers Supplement FAQ document.
