    ESOL Endorsement Flyer

    The ESOL Endorsement at Metro RESA is a GaPSC approved preparation program that provides approved candidates with the coursework and related field experience required to add the ESOL Endorsement to a current standard Georgia Professional Certificate.  The Metro RESA ESOL Endorsement prepares P-12 educators to demonstrate competency in addressing the instructional, language, and cultural needs of students whose first language is not English in Georgia Public Schools.

  • Course I: Cultural Issues in TESOL (5o hours/5 PLUs)

  • Course II: Applied Linguistics in TESOL (50 hours/5 PLUs)

  • Course III: Methods and Materials in TESOL (50 hours/5 PLUs)

  • Resource Requirements

  • Courses are designed to be taken in sequence, beginning with Cultural Issues in TESOL and ending with the Methods and Materials in TESOL. The ESOL Endorsement is divided into three courses consisting of 5 PLUs each. Successful completion of all three courses is required to add the ESOL Endorsement to a base certificate.
